Access, view, and share data from any REST API
Today, many software companies are allowing access to their data through an API and many 3rd party applications are using this to their advantage. Most of the time you must really understand their API documentation and a programming language to make use of the access they allow to their data.
With Popdock’s REST Service, you can make connections to other applications that Popdock has not already built an integration with. If you are familiar with using an API, you can easily configure Popdock to connect to your 3rd Party application and bring the data into Popdock.
With Popdock, you can:
Users can create new favorites and there are several options built in to be able to share data:
One of the most powerful features of Popdock is being able to combine data and add restrictions, variables, and calculation. Popdock’s custom lists give you the ability to join, merge, compare and summarize data across REST API and with other cloud and on-premise applications you use. Custom lists can be used to bring data from multiple object tables in your REST API into one list or bring together data from multiple sources.

On an Popdock list, you can configure and enable actions. A few of these actions include the ability to copy a record, open a record, or to run a process. Custom actions have a lot of potential to be creative with options to send an API request. Data from a field on a list can trigger a custom action that opens a URL and passes the data from that field to the URL as a parameter.
The Popdock REST web services connector is a generic, universal connector that is not tailored to a specific REST API. It’s built to support a variety of REST data sources and being able to configure which data you’d like to be able to work with from the API.

One Popdock app we highly recommend is the Popdock add-in for Microsoft Excel, which allows the end user to select any Popdock list favorite available to them to bring the data into Microsoft Excel.
