REST Service

Access, view, and share data from any REST API

The user-friendly interface for working with data from any REST API.

Today, many software companies are allowing access to their data through an API and many 3rd party applications are using this to their advantage. Most of the time you must really understand their API documentation and a programming language to make use of the access they allow to their data.

With Popdock’s REST Service, you can make connections to other applications that Popdock has not already built an integration with.  If you are familiar with using an API, you can easily configure Popdock to connect to your 3rd Party application and bring the data into Popdock.

With Popdock, you can:

  • View, query, filter and save favorite reports (lists or graphs) of data from your 3rd party application
  • Combine REST API data + data from other apps
  • Use an intuitive interface to add as many filters as you’d like
  • Share data and reports with other people in your company that you don’t necessarily want logging into your third party app
  • Embed related REST API data in other apps

Access cloud app data, customize favorites, & share.

Users can create new favorites and there are several options built in to be able to share data:

  • Create, share, and tag favorites within the Popdock web app
  • Virtually Integrate Rest API data in other apps using Popdock widgets
  • Export to Excel or PDF
  • Schedule a job to email or send your report to Microsoft Teams or Slack
  • Enable a Popdock API endpoint for yourPopdock lists to programmatically use Popdock as a data source
  • Create your advanced query in Popdockand use Popdock data in Power BI or Tableau

Combine REST API data

One of the most powerful features of Popdock is being able to combine data and add restrictions, variables, and calculation. Popdock’s custom lists give you the ability to join, merge, compare and summarize data across REST API and with other cloud and on-premise applications you use. Custom lists can be used to bring data from multiple object tables in your REST API into one list or bring together data from multiple sources.

Take Action on your Data

On an Popdock list, you can configure and enable actions. A few of these actions include the ability to copy a record, open a record, or to run a process. Custom actions have a lot of potential to be creative with options to send an API request. Data from a field on a list can trigger a custom action that opens a URL and passes the data from that field to the URL as a parameter.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price for this connector?

There actually isn’t connector-based pricing. The majority of available Popdock connectors are available with the purchase of every Popdock Plan. You can set up as many reports, connectors, and Popdock widgets as you’d like in all of the pricing plans. Premium Connectors, for example, Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Connector is only available in the Premium Plan. Learn more about pricing here.

What types of apps are people using with the Popdock REST Connector?

Our customers are connecting to all types of 3rd party best-of-breed apps using the REST services connector – eCommerce, CRM, marketing, social, BI apps, vertical solutions, and more. We learn about new ones every day, so it’s a great thing to be able to have a generic REST connector that works across a lot of API’s.

Is it possible to get Popdock reports into Microsoft Excel?

Yes, the Export to Excel option can be turned on for any Popdock list and can also be made available within Popdock widgets. One Popdock app we highly recommend is the Popdock add-in for Microsoft Excel, which allows the end user to select any Popdock list favorite available to them to bring the data into Microsoft Excel.

Can exports be scheduled?

Yes, Popdock includes scheduled jobs in the Popdock Premium plan, so you can automate the timing for your Popdock list favorite or graph to be exported and emailed to your team.
